Model Description
Oddball but gloriously detailed and equipped V-twin roadster was a show/concept machine that actually made it into production, unsuccessfully. As a lump of metal motorcycling sculpture the Mt-01 is magnificent, from its glorious, art deco-inspired console to high-mounted twin pipes. What’s more, everywhere you look there are only the best of components, such as radially-mounted brakes. As a riding proposition, however, the bold Yamaha is less convincing. The custom bike-derived (the engine is taken from the XV1900 Wild Star), pushrod motor is just 90bhp with an odd, lumpy, low-revving delivery while the whole plot is heavy. It was also expensive when new. Used, though, it’s still cheap, classy and is increasingly appreciated.
