Model Description
Brilliantly straightforward and simple four-stroke, single-cylinder trail bike that was virtually unrivalled between 1992 and 1999 as an introduction to dirt riding. The air-cooled mechanicals are simple and rugged; the performance and manageability (producing a perky 30bhp yet being flexible, light and slim) are perfect for both novice off-roaders or even more experienced types plus the DR was affordable, easy to work on and reliable, too. Deleted due to tightening emissions regs in 1999 it was replaced by the more competent (but also more sophisticated and expensive) liquid-cooled DRZ400 in 2001.
