Model Description
Another short-lived Suzuki model. The unfortunately-named Freewind was launched in 1998 only to be dropped from Suzuki’s line-up just five short years later. Based on DR650 trail bike running gear the Freewind was a more adventure-styled machine with a fairly average, air-cooled, single-cylinder powerplant. With few compelling virtues, bland styling and a frankly embarrassing name it was replaced in Suzuki’s line-up in 2004 by the admittedly far better, V-twin powered V-Strom 650.
