Model Description
Launched in 2005 and mostly developed after Aprilia took over the ailing Italian marque in 2000, the significantly new Griso was intended as the start of a new, updated, revitalized era for Moto Guzzi – and in many respects it succeeded. Although its heart is the familiar, big, Guzzi transverse V-twin, it was substantially reworked and modernized to produce a decent 91bhp with plenty of torque. The shaft drive was reworked into a modern mono-arm system; the tubular steel chassis was new, too, and featured modern inverted forks and top notch Brembo brakes and there was bold modern styling and improved detailing and build quality as well. The result, while still unmistakably a quirky Guzzi and big and heavy, was a quantum leap from what went before and remains a charismatic, engaging, bruising ride.
