Model Description
After the flawed ZX-10 of 1988, the succeeding ZZ-R1100 hyperbike of 1989 had to be good – and it was. Uprated liquid-cooled four was 147bhp potent (although, for a while it was controversially restricted to 125bhp), which, along with a solid, stable chassis and pioneering aerodynamic bodywork was enough to make it the fastest motorcycle on the planet – a title the big Kawasaki would hold for the next seven years. The later, 1993 ‘E1’ version, with Ram air and improved finish, is the better version. Find a good, clean one today and it’s still usable.
