Model Description
Game-changing supersport – indeed, the very first of the breed – which still makes an OK commuter or runabout today. Launched in 1985 with an all-new, liquid-cooled, 16-valve four cylinder motor in a racy, fully-faired chassis, the first GPZ6 was junior version of the world-leading GPz900R. Tiny (wheels front and rear were just 16in), compact and sports focused it put a cat among the middleweight pigeons. Unfortunately for Kawasaki, though, rivals stole the concept and bikes like Honda’s first CBR600F two years later instead came to define the class.
