Model Description
Launched in 2001 as the latest version of Honda’s hugely successful, admired and refined VFR sports tourer (there had previously been the 1986 VFR750F, 1992 VFR750FL, 1995 VFR750FN-R and 1998 VFR800Fi), it continued with its predecessors’ superbly-flexible liquid-cooled (and by then 107bhp) V4 in a beautifully refined and versatile Pro-Arm-equipped chassis but was this time distinguished by slightly oddball, angular styling which included the not universally-liked underseat exhausts plus, even more controversially, V-TEC variable valve-timing which, though effective, also added a slight ‘hiccup’ in its power delivery. Long-lived, durable and effective, it was never quite as loved as its predecessors.
