Model Description
After the success of the ‘all-rounder’ supersports 600s in the 1990s it was perhaps inevitable that the breed would become faster and more sports-orientated, a trend began with Yamaha’s hugely successful R6 in 1999. Honda’s belated response was 2003’s all-new CBR600RR, a 115bhp track-focussed missile that was, to most intents and purpose, a junior RCV or Fireblade. That said, although extreme, the RR, though no CBR600F, has always proved roomier and more versatile than some of its rivals, mostly due to a reasonably flexible power delivery. Significantly updated first in 2007 and then, mostly with a clever ABS system, in 2009 before a final facelift in 2013, the CBR, though aging, remains a decent middleweight sports/all-rounder with heaps of refinement and durability.
