Model Description
The Italian firm’s attempt at a large capacity ‘maxi-scooter’ has a great deal going for it in being roomy, comfortable, a good handler and practical with lots of nice touches. Unfortunately it was let down by its Piaggio-supplied, 460cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine which, in producing just 37bhp, was outpowered by most rivals. That said, the Atlantic 500 is better value than most ‘super-scooters’ and pleasing enough to ride.
