Model Description
Aprilia’s first litre-class machine was a hugely bold superbike intended to rival Ducati – and it almost did exactly that. Powered by an all-new, 128bhp, Rotax-built V-twin, the RSV 1000 was fast yet tractable; its twin spar aluminium frame was state of the art; cycle parts were second to none and it had decent clocks and ancilliaries, too. Bigger than Ducati’s 916 it never quite beat its Italian rival on track and its bulbous looks didn’t appeal to everyone, but it’s still classy, suits bigger riders and can be a used bargain.
